Hey, Hey, Hey, Good Bye

American League pitchers were disappointed to hear that the Mariners have released Mendoza Line toeing Richie Sexson.  According to manager Jim Riggleman, the decision was made after he sulked about his reduced playing time.  I don’t know how we’ll get by without his .218 batting average.

Likewise, American League hitters were saddened to hear that the shortest route to the Mariner’s Bullpen is on the Disabled List for the 8th time this season.  Erik “I’m Getting Paid If I Pitch Or Not” Bedard has a hang nail or something.

Since C.C. Sabathia and Rich Harden have been dealt there may potentially exist a market for the Lackadaisical One, although his lack of motivation and injury proness may preclude any meaningful trade.
